About

I’ve been working in the horticultural field for a decade, first as the owner of a small landscape design company. Eventually I moved into public horticulture, and began to focus on historic gardens and heirloom plants.

Philadelphia has a rich horticultural history, and my favorite topics to write and speak about relate to this heritage, and to how people have interacted with and been influenced by their environments at different time periods.

My favorite plants are the stinky old roses, and other old-fashioned plants with fragrant flowers.
